Team and group development
E-mail

In Scandinavia there is a long tradition of cooperation. At the same time, most people have experienced that a common task alone does not make 'a team'. No natural law dictates that team work is always efficient. There are conditions or situations in all groups where team cooperation is not working optimally.

Inefficient team cooperation is most often due to a lack of professional attention to coordination and control of teamwork and team interaction. Human House has many years’ experience of working with cooperative groups, project groups and teams – from design and development of team-based organisations and teambuilding to support of the individual group member.

Focus on team and group development

In practice, this means looking at the extent to which the members have a common understanding and perception of management requirements and share work norms and values. A good starting point is therefore to establish the team’s goals and the required level of mutual interaction. Typically, this will involve working together to solve a common task and create a group feeling.

Team and group development focuses on the necessary components for good teamwork, for example a clear structure with common purpose and task and clarification of roles and culture. The ultimate goal is to create efficient teamwork based on optimisation and quality, consensus about the product and job satisfaction for the team members.
